A Green New Deal - Marijuana

Michigan_Map_Green_favicon.png  Marijuana as a medicine should be treated as such by all employers in Michigan.  No citizen should be discriminated against in housing, employment, or elsewhere in the public sphere for being a patient. 

Michigan_Map_Green_favicon.png  The attempt to shutter nearly all dispensaries and deny access to medical marijuana patients would never be attempted to patients of synthetic pharmaceuticals.

Michigan_Map_Green_favicon.png  Those who have been convicted of simple possession of marijuana should have their records expunged upon legalization.  

Michigan_Map_Green_favicon.png  Marijuana should be legalized for recreational use, and taxed as a recreational purchase.

Michigan_Map_Green_favicon.png  The age should be the same as alcohol, at 21 and provisions should be made in the law to allow for "coffee-shops" and eateries to be treated such as cigar and hookah bars.

Michigan_Map_Green_favicon.png  The state should invest in new agriculture for the hemp plant upon legalization.  Utilizing our agriculture space for a new crop with varying uses such as fiber for cloth products, oil for beauty products, a new potential source of concrete, and many other new industries that will drive additional new jobs and revenue.
